Department of Health Economics, Management and Statistics
The mission of the Department of Health Economics, Management and Statistics is to provide and disseminate scientific evidence that supports better management of health at the level of individuals, teams, and systems.
We focus on quality of life, efficiency, and data supporting decision-making in healthcare. We conduct interdisciplinary research and education in the fields of health economics, management, and statistics, analysing socio-economic determinants of health and guiding the implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare.
Scope of activities:
- conducting interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of public health;
- research on quality of life and wellbeing of patients and employees, as well as work efficiency;
- development and analysis of socio-economic data related to health and the effectiveness of health interventions and medical technologies, including pharmaceutical public health;
- education in health economics, management, development of personal competencies, and statistics;
- preparation of reports, expert opinions, and research- and implementation-oriented studies;
- cooperation with national and international institutions and research units.

Educational activities encompassing health economics, management, and statistics, with particular emphasis on the development of personal and managerial competencies.

- Economic evaluations, including analyses of the effectiveness of health interventions and medical technologies.
- Pharmaceutical public health – research on patient behaviours related to pharmacotherapy and adherence to therapeutic recommendations.
- Quality of life and wellbeing of patients, employees, and leaders.
- Occupational factors, work efficiency, and productivity, with particular emphasis on medical professions.
- Healthcare management, organisation of the healthcare system, and relationships among stakeholders.
- Quality of healthcare, patient experience, and organisational effectiveness of healthcare services.
- Analysis of user needs in medical technologies and evaluation of the implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare.
- Socio-economic and behavioural determinants of health and decision-making in healthcare.
- Health-related misinformation and its impact on behaviours, decision-making, and the functioning of the healthcare system.
