Rehabilitation Department
The Rehabilitation Department of the Centre of Postgraduate Medial Education conducts educa-tional, scientific, and clinical activities in the field of comprehensive rehabilitation, specializing in the rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The Department carries out its tasks in cooperation with the Orthopedic Departments of the Adam Gruca Orthopaedic and Trauma Teaching Hospitaltion Medicine, European Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Educational activities
The Department provides postgraduate medical education, condutcs trining in physical and reha-bilitation medicnine including postgratduete courses. These courses cover topics such as: Intro-duction to Rehabilitation Medicine, Clinical Diagnostics in Rehabilitation, Medical Devices for In-dividual Use and Assistive Technologies, Rehabilitation of Patients with Musculoskeletal Disor-ders, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Certification Course ” Rehabilitation Medicine” as well as Imaging Diagnostics in Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy. Additionally, the clinic offers student intern-ships for students from the Faculty of Physiotherapy at the University of Physical Education in Wasraw, (AWF), Warsaw Medical Academy of Applied Sciences, and Tadeusz Koźluk Warsaw Medical University. Since 2023, the Department regularly hosts scientific and educational mee-tings of the Mazovian Division of the Polish Rehabilitation Society. From 2024, it has also been the venue for the European Board Examination in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Scientific activities
The Department conducts research on functional assessment with the application of the Interna-tional Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF). The studies focus on: evaluating the effectiveness of comprehensive rehabilitation of patients after musculoskeletal reconstruc-tive procedures, developing new functional assessment tools, exploring the use of medical devi-ces in rehabilitation.
Medical activities
The Department provides treatment for patients with functional impairments resulting from musculoskeletal disorders. The facility specializes in postoperative rehabilitation, including: ar-throplasties of hip and knee, pelvic correction surgeries for congenital abnormalities, surgical treatment of limb and spinal injuries, including polytrauma patients, managing patients with de-generative, inflammatory, congenital, or developmental chronic musculoskeletal diseases. The clinic ensures comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs, impro-ving their functional status and quality of life.
